Fortress Locksmith FAQ’s

If you cannot find the answers to your questions here, please contact us for more information or to request help from a certified locksmith in your area. We’re available by phone, secure online form, WhatsApp, and more.

Are you legally licensed to provide locksmith services?

Yes. Our company takes all necessary steps to ensure the professionalism, safety, and compliance of all our locksmith services. We are licensed by the private security authority in Ireland No. 07081. Neil Darcy, owner of Fortress Locksmith, is a licensed Master locksmith with over 24 years of experience with both property and vehicle services and a founding member of the Irish Locksmith Organisation.

What will I pay for your locksmith services?

We do not believe in overcharging services or surprising you with hidden fees. Fortress Locksmith works hard to keep our prices affordable. Plus, we offer 100% free call-outs. This means you do not pay for us to show up. You only pay for the services you need. We accept all major credit cards for your convenience.

Best of all, we make no secret of our prices. Unlike other locksmiths, we never tack on extra costs at the end that you’re forced to pay or risk your security. Vehicle entry costs €90. Lost car keys can be replaced from €180 or even less for some brands. Domestic lock access begins at €70. We will tell you the whole price of the service upfront every time.

What service areas do you cover? Will you come to my location?

Fortress Locksmith offers full service in the following areas: Athenry, Athlone, Ballisnasloe, Carrick on Shannon, Claremorris, Ennis, Knocknacarra, Longford Town, Loughrea, Mullingar, Oreanmore, Roscommon, Tuam, and Tuliamore. View a full map of our service area here.

If you get locked out of your vehicle in these areas, give us a call or contact us through WhatsApp to get service quickly.

Do you offer emergency locksmith services 24/7?

Yes. Lockouts can happen at any time of the day or night, and we know you cannot wait to get in your car, truck, home or business. We offer reliable 24/7 emergency services to our whole service area to help ensure you are never left stranded for long.

Whether it’s late at night, early in the morning, or even on holidays, you can expect a skilled locksmith to arrive as soon as possible after your call. We prioritise fast response times and efficient solutions so you can get back inside or on the road without wasted time or undue stress.

Can you help with vehicle’s make and model?

Yes. Fortress Locksmith can arrange key replacements for almost any type of car, light truck, SUV, and even motorcycles and other vehicles. We work with both domestic and foreign cars including older models and the latest electronic entry systems. Our goal is to help you gain access, ensure security, and make sure your new keys and transponders work perfectly down the road.

What happens during an emergency call-out from a locksmith?

Our goal is to help you regain access to your property or vehicle as quickly as possible. First, we assess the situation and confirm your identity for security purposes. Then, we use our high-quality tools and years of experience to gain entry without damaging the lock or any electronic equipment. Expect polite, professional service any time of the day or night.

What should I do if my car’s key fob or transponder key stops working?

Call us! Electronic key fobs and transponder keys wear out or get damaged eventually, and you’re left without access to your car, truck, or motorcycle. Whatever the reason – dead battery, programming issue, or physical damage – you need a replacement quickly.

Fortress Locksmith can replace your car keys for any make and model of vehicle. We can cut physical keys and provide security fobs, remote access, transponders, and more. Not only does this let you continue to drive with ease, but you also gain the peace of mind in knowing that your vehicle is secure.

How long will it take for the emergency locksmith to arrive?

We never want to leave you waiting in a parking lot or outside your home waiting hours for help. Our team prioritizes a speedy response exactly when you need an emergency locksmith the most. Response times will vary depending on your location and whether team members are currently on another call. However, you can expect the fastest service in the area from Fortress.

Can you unlock my vehicle or property without damaging the locks?

Yes. In the majority of cases, we can unlock any car, truck, home, or business without causing any damage to the locking mechanisms or doors. However, if the lock is damaged or malfunctioning already, we will discuss options for repairing or replacing it. This happens when the key breaks off in the lock, a break-in attempt causes damage, or in a few other unique circumstances.

I want to increase security at home. Can you help?

Absolutely. Nothing is more important than feeling safe and secure in your own home. Proper locks are a huge part of providing that peace of mind. We offer a vast range of sturdy locking mechanisms for all types of doors and windows.

Other security options include restricted keys, which means that no one can duplicate your keys other than the manufacturer or us, and anti-snap locks, which provide more internal strength and a great deterrent for break-ins.

Fortress Locksmith offers 100% FREE domestic property security surveys. We will come to your location and check doors, ground floor windows, and outbuildings for effective locks and other details. Get recommendations from the experts to secure your home today.

How do I know if my lock needs repair or a full replacement?

We can help. With Fortress Locksmith expertise and experience, we help you understand all the options when it comes to your vehicle and building locks. If your lock sticks, the key doesn’t fit properly, has damage, or if you experience frequent lockouts, replacement might be the best option. After a professional assessment, we offer recommendations and full service for any repair or replacement needs.
